City of Prescott Summer Concert and Movie Series

If you’re not familiar with the City of Prescott’s annual downtown summer concert series, you’ve been missing out! Running from the beginning of June through the beginning of September, the city provides free entertainment five nights a week! These events take place all summer long at the Yavapai County Courthouse Plaza, located at the heart of downtown Prescott.

Once the territorial capital of Arizona, the town of Prescott has been around since 1864. After several major fires destroyed most of the original town square in the early 1900s, downtown Prescott, including the central courthouse plaza, was rebuilt with brick. Since then, the courthouse plaza has been home to several cultural events and performances during the summer nights. The tradition continues to this day, where you can now find events five nights a week!

Whether you’re visiting the town for the first time or have long been a resident of the historic town, there’s more events to explore! Every Tuesday, pack of the family and come out to enjoy Jazz on the Square. Sponsored by the City of Prescott, the show starts at 6:30 and is free and open to the general public. Grab a boxed dinner from one of the local downtown spots and enjoy the music. If you’re more come out every Wednesday at dusk for the Free Movie on the Park series, starting every Wednesday evening at dusk.

If you’ve waited for your chance to hit the stage, come down on Thursdays for your chance to participate in Prescott’s Karaoke idol. The finale of which takes place on Thursday, September 3rd.

With events all summer long, Prescott is a great place to come out and play! For a full schedule of musical acts and movies being shown, go to http://www.prescott-az.gov.
